About

Years ago, a friend of mine bought me a cooking apron that had Will Cook For Bling embroidered on it. It was the perfect gift because it was totally me. I've always been a big fan of baking and have become quite the cupcake connoisseur but cooking ... um, not so much.

When I moved away from home, I learned the basics by necessity and even mastered a few dishes. But, in my mind, cooking anything "good" required a complicated recipe, exotic ingredients and was sure to be a long, tedious process that more often than not ended in a scorched meal. While I never avoided the kitchen, I did develop a "will cook for bling" mentality. I told myself I'd become a really good chef once I got married and had someone to cook for ... until then, super basic meals and lots of take-out would suffice.

Fast-forward two and a half years later and here I am, a newlywed. I've got the bling, so it's only fair that I begin to navigate my way around the kitchen. This blog is where I document that journey, dish by dish.
